Make Mondays Matter We are contacting the thousands of progressive, public-interest groups concerned with gun violence, toxins in our world, our energy future, the poisoned food supply, habitat and animal destruction, ocean acidification and islands of plastics, mass incarceration, the failure of government agencies to regulate businesses in the public interest... The assaults go on and so do the groups pleading for our limited resources. We are angry, frustrated with so many piecemeal demonstrations and efforts; we are using the internet to connect this nation by staying on two all-encompassing, unifying messages, and creating organized, public pressure at the federal centers of power, our state and federal legislators. Most even mid-sized cities have local offices for the federal representatives. Can't get there? Phone or email them on Mondays with the following two demands that unify the progressive people in this country:
1) greater governmental support of alternative energies; leave fossil fuels in the ground; 2) public financing of state and federal elections which will cost each citizen $3.00. Two excellent sites are www.congress.gov and www.usa.gov Go there to relearn how the federal government works. Go there to learn which bills address these issues and where the bills are in the process of becoming laws. Go there to find your federal representatives. Your other issues are welcomed as well.
